Florian Arbenz Threadgill, a visionary musician and poet! For me, he's an important guy in 20th century music. I really admire his compositions and how he manages to get his very own sound whilst leaving a lot of space to his musicians. Great line up, too, especially Dafnis Prieto, another Cuban musician who mixes tradition with up to date-drumming. This record was kind of an inspiration for my Convergence project: I use the same instruments and similar concepts although the sound is quite different...
